Ashley Mayfield was promoted to chief appraiser at the meeting of the Concho County Appraisal District Board in November.

Mayfield has been working at the District as the deputy chief appraiser for the past year, and recently earned her Registered Professional Appraiser license from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Earning that license is a requirement for being a chief appraiser in Texas. She is continuing her educational track required in Texas by going through the Chief Appraiser Institute, an intensive program of learning about all of the facets of the job including budgeting, personnel issues, working with the State Comptroller, legal aspects, and many other items. She will complete that training later this year.

Mayfield has over 10 years experience with appraisal districts in Taylor, Aransas and McCulloch Counties.

"I am very excited and thankful for the opportunity to lead this office and serve Concho County," said Mayfield. "The appraisal district employees and taxing units have been a joy to work with over the last year. I am looking forward to growing and moving the district in a positive direction in upcoming years."

Mayfield has two sons, Taylor (2) and Hudson (1) and is the daughter of Brady residents, Ruede and Debbie Rule. Ashley is an active member of Gateway Church in Brady where she serves as the Missions Coordinator and is involved in various volunteer organizations in the community.
