10/4/2012 - Former Knoch Football Player Found Dead at W&J

A former standout football player from Knoch High School was found dead this morning in Washington County.
Police in the city of Washington say they're calling the death of Tim McNerney suspicious.
McNerney, a senior football player for Washington and Jefferson College and a 2009 graduate of Knoch, was found early this morning at the intersection of College and Maiden streets in the city.
Washington County Coroner Tim Warco says McNerney was taken to Washington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 5am.
The cause of death is pending an autopsy. The manner of death is pending a police investigation.
Police have not provided any details surrounding the incident. McNerney was the starting running back for the W&J Presidents football team.
The college has released a statement saying the W&J community is deeply saddened and heartbroken. The statement says the campus will come together very soon to honor Tim.
Grief counseling is being made available to students.
